Privacy policy for DocuForge
DocuForge (“we”, “our”, or “the platform”) is engineered for high-security document intelligence and conversion. We operate under strict European data privacy standards (GDPR / UK GDPR).
1. Zero-retention document processing
DocuForge operates on a sovereign, zero-retention data pipeline:
- In-memory parsing: When you upload ODF (.odt, .ods, .odp), PDF, or legacy files for conversion, documents are processed entirely in volatile memory and are purged immediately once extraction completes.
- No document storage: We do not archive, store, or copy your source files or converted JSON/Markdown payloads on our servers.
- No model training: Your proprietary technical documents, business spreadsheets, or public archives are never used to train foundation models or public algorithms.
2. Bring your own key (BYOK) and external API privacy
DocuForge is available as a free BYOK tool. When you use your own API keys (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Mistral) or local LLM endpoints:
- Direct API communication: Document extraction payloads are transmitted directly from your client environment to your specified model provider over TLS-encrypted connections. 4DC Services does not intercept, log, or inspect these payloads.
- Third-party data governance: When using commercial LLM API keys, data processing is governed by your agreement with that provider. Commercial API developer tiers generally guarantee that inputs are not used for training, but you should review your provider’s specific terms.
- Local air-gapped models: For complete data confidentiality, you can configure DocuForge with local on-premise models (such as Ollama or vLLM). In this configuration, 100% of data processing occurs within your isolated private network, with zero internet connectivity required.
3. API key security
API keys entered into DocuForge remain stored solely in your client browser’s local encrypted storage or local environment variables. Keys are never sent to 4DC Services backend systems.
4. Telemetry and third-party trackers
DocuForge contains zero third-party advertising SDKs, behavioural trackers, or tracking cookies.
