Terms of service for DocuForge
These terms govern your access to and use of DocuForge (“the platform”), provided by 4DC Services.
1. Permitted use and BYOK licence
DocuForge is provided as a free software utility under a bring your own key (BYOK) model for converting legacy documents (including ODF and technical PDFs) into structured JSON schemas and Markdown. You are granted a non-exclusive licence to use DocuForge for personal or commercial document conversions, provided you comply with all applicable laws.
2. Document ownership and intellectual property
You retain all copyright, title, and intellectual property rights in the source documents you submit and the resulting converted JSON or Markdown files. DocuForge claims no ownership or intellectual property rights over your data.
3. Third-party API keys and token costs
When using DocuForge in BYOK mode, you provide your own API credentials for external AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Cloud, or Mistral). You are solely responsible for all API token fees and rate limits incurred with your chosen providers.
4. Extraction accuracy and verification responsibilities
While DocuForge utilizes deterministic parsers and structured schema enforcement, document layouts and scanned quality vary widely. You are responsible for verifying extracted numerical tables, engineering formulas, and compliance statements before utilizing them in production workflows or regulatory filings.
5. Limitation of liability
DocuForge is provided “as is” and “as available”. 4DC Services disclaims liability for any business interruption, data inaccuracies, or damages resulting from the use or inability to use the platform.
