Privacy policy for Drobely
Drobely (“we”, “our”, or “the platform”) is committed to protecting your personal privacy while helping you organise, style, and manage your wardrobe. This policy details how garment photos, wardrobe inventories, saved outfits, and optional peer-sharing interactions are handled.
1. Overview and privacy commitments
We operate under strict European data protection principles (GDPR / UK GDPR). We do not monetise your personal wardrobe data, we do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we never use your personal closet photos to train public generative or facial recognition models.
2. Wardrobe photography and image processing
- Garment segmentation: When you take or upload photos of clothing, shoes, or accessories, our vision algorithms process the imagery to remove backgrounds and extract stylistic metadata (e.g. colour, pattern, item category).
- Private storage: Processed garment images are stored in private, encrypted cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) tied strictly to your authenticated account ID.
- Model training exclusion: Your uploaded photographs are never used to train public machine learning or foundation models.
3. Wardrobe inventory, outfit logs, and styling data
- Wardrobe records: Item attributes such as brands, sizes, acquisition dates, purchase prices, material composition, and condition ratings are stored securely in your private account profile.
- Saved outfits: Outfits you assemble, schedule on your calendar, or tag with specific occasions are confidential by default and visible only to you.
- Wear tracking: Wear frequency logs and calculated cost-per-wear metrics remain strictly private and are never shared with fashion brands, advertisers, or retail aggregators.
4. Peer outfit sharing and clothes exchange features
Drobely includes optional collaborative features available on request, allowing users to share outfits with peers and coordinate clothes exchanges or loans:
- Strict opt-in participation: All social, community, and sharing features are disabled by default. Your wardrobe items and outfits are private unless you explicitly choose to share them.
- Granular sharing controls: When sharing an outfit or lookbook, you specify the visibility level (e.g. private link, designated friends, or community showcase). You can revoke access or unshare any outfit at any time.
- Clothes exchange and loan safety: When participating in peer-to-peer clothes swapping, lending, or second-hand exchanges, your direct contact details (such as physical address, phone number, or personal email) are never exposed publicly. Direct communications and exchange logistics occur only with your explicit confirmation.
- Community guidelines: Users participating in community sharing must adhere to strict respectful conduct standards. Uploaded photos must depict only clothing and accessories you own or are authorised to display.
5. Location data and weather forecast integration
- Ephemeral weather lookup: Drobely requests approximate geographic location permissions solely to fetch local weather conditions and temperature forecasts for daily outfit recommendations.
- Zero location tracking: Your precise coordinates and location history are never logged, stored on our servers, or shared with third parties.
6. Data storage, encryption, and infrastructure
- Encryption in transit and at rest: All network communications between the mobile application and backend services are encrypted via TLS 1.3. User data stored at rest is encrypted using AES-256 standards.
- European infrastructure: Backend computation and storage are hosted on enterprise European and edge cloud providers complying with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certifications.
7. Data retention, portability, and user erasure rights
Under European data protection regulations, you hold full sovereignty over your information:
- Data export: You can request a complete export of your wardrobe database and high-resolution garment images at any time through the in-app account menu.
- Complete erasure: You can delete individual items, outfits, or your entire account with all associated media at any time via Settings > Privacy > Delete account. Deletion is instantaneous and permanently removes your files from our storage buckets.
8. Contact information and regulatory compliance
