Terms of service for LibMate
These terms govern your access to and use of LibMate (“the application”), provided by 4DC Services.
1. Permitted use and local library management
LibMate is licensed for personal, non-commercial book cataloguing, physical inventory management, peer lending tracking, and e-book reading. You agree to use the application in compliance with all applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
2. Intellectual property and digital book copyrights
- User content and files: You retain all ownership rights in your custom library entries, notes, and imported e-book files.
- Copyright compliance: You agree to import only e-books and digital publications that you lawfully own, have purchased, or that reside in the public domain. LibMate does not provide, host, or distribute copyrighted book files.
- Software rights: The LibMate application, interface, branding, and proprietary RSVP speed-reading software remain the exclusive intellectual property of 4DC Services.
3. Peer lending and loan ledger liability
LibMate provides tools to record loans of physical books between peers. The application functions solely as an informational ledger. 4DC Services does not manage physical exchanges and assumes no responsibility or liability for lost, damaged, unreturned, or disputed books between users.
4. Software availability and warranty disclaimer
LibMate is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis without warranties of any kind. 4DC Services is not liable for data loss or device incompatibilities; users are encouraged to maintain regular backups of their library database via the built-in export features.
